Description
In ogee baluster form, this pot-pourri vase has a domed lid with pierced blue anthemion’s, decorated with painted flowers above a lapis blue caillouté ground with gilt honeycomb. With a central lozenge depicting a harbour scene of figures working in a French port, it was painted by Morin. The reverse is hand painted with a floral spray, raised on an oval spreading foot and an ormolu stand of scrolls and flowers.The gilding covers a chip that obviuosly ocurred at the factory before its addition.
